Planet Earth as a soul school

We looked into the idea of Prison Planet last week, but let’s take a more optimistic point of view and consider that maybe Earth is a school for souls on a journey to ascension.

Earth as a soul school seems like a real possibility, even though sometimes it feels unfair and broken. Maybe the objective after all is to wake up to the illusion of reality and sense of separation we all seem to experience.

Many believe in the likelihood of reincarnation, which suggests we are sent back to learn lessons that we haven’t fully comprehended yet. A lot of NDEs (near death experiences) speak of life reviews and neutral, non-judgmental insights into events experienced and potentially better ways to handle them. Encountering a higher being like this suggests that maybe life isn’t so bad after all and that our Earthly life is just part of a process to learn and evolve.

Life is full of signs, synchronicity and seemingly divine intervention which could be part of a predetermined path specifically laid out in our lives to learn fundamental lessons. It dispels the idea of randomness and suggests life is designed for growth.

Earth could just be a dense 3D training ground with planets and the moon as well playing their role in the reincarnation cycle. Maybe transcendence of the ego is the ultimate objective of the ‘game’ of life, recognizing the illusion of separation, and as Don Juan would say (from the Carlos Castaneda series of books), merging into the infinite.

The soul school may not be about escape and bypassing this world, but rather becoming one with it. Seeing the best in everybody can be tough, but they too are blocked and tangled up in layers of preferences and ego. Faulty programming. Maybe our job is to untangle this conditioning and get back to the innocence of childhood, filled with awe, mystery, fear and confidence (the warrior-traveler path as described by Don Juan).

Maybe today is a good day to remind yourself that you are not a victim. Everything put in front of you is a test and call to action. It’s an invitation both to wake up and to grow. Will you heed the call?
